Testimonials

“Joseph Kress is a talented multi-instrumentalist who enthusiastically shares his knowledge with his students. For my school’s music program, he taught private lessons in guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, and cello. He fully engages with his students and skillfully guides them toward mastery. He is personable, thoughtful, and always meets students at their level. He is a gifted young man who is passionate about music and music education.”
-Vinny Alexander, Independent School Arts Administrator

“What sets Joe apart from other musicians and engineers besides his impeccable musicianship, ear, and technical facility (alongside his extensive knowledge of contemporary and vintage gear) is the joy and coolheadedness he brings to any given project. Joe’s the person you want on your team to ensure that a high-stakes session or rehearsal stays on track — not only with rigor, but with positivity. And if you or your kid happen to be seeking to adopt any of the many skill sets in which he has expertise, take stock in the fact that he brings talent, confidence, style, and ease to every lesson. A team-builder, musical collaborator, technician, and teacher of the highest echelon.”
-Jonathan Harris, Sound Artist

“Despite having played viola for 8 years and guitar for over a decade I’ve always struggled to learn theory. In my attempts to learn/relearn the piano I got some lessons from Joseph. Within a couple 30 minute lessons I learned and absorbed more theory than I was able to throughout all my time in high school and college taking theory courses and playing the guitar and viola. I can’t recommend Joseph enough for whatever your goals in music happen to be, whether it’s learning for enjoyment or becoming a theory virtuoso to improve your ongoing musical ventures Joseph is your go to person.”
-Aaron Wald, Wald Guitars

“From tracking to mixing, I have been so fortunate to work with Joe and Sandbox Fight. Not only is Joe a skilled engineer, but also a creative who knows the importance of having a strong vision for a project. He is beautifully inventive in his crafting of sound, and is not afraid to work outside the box or experiment in service to the music. Whenever working with Sandbox Fight, I am consistently struck with the open mind and originality that Joe brings to the table. Furthermore, the passion and care with which Joe works is rare to find, and it brings projects to heights unforeseen. I cannot recommend his services enough.”
